String Cover
We supply a 100% virgin wool custom string cover designed to fit over the strings and soundboard of your piano, protecting your soundboard and plate from dust, and your strings from rust. Upholstered crosspieces are fastened to keep the cover off the strings. Piano wire is not stainless and rusts easily, and soundboards are very difficult to clean. This cover can keep the strings and soundboard beautiful for a long time. Contact me with make, model and S/N of your piano. This can be shipped if prepaid. Most covers can be ordered without pattern, some require a pattern to be made on the piano, best done at the time of tuning, or an additional service call is required.
As of the fall of 2016 we have begun to use the company which purchased the original Edwards String Covers patterns, and these covers give us the best results. Turnaround time is now quite reasonable, although this is a custom service, and a 2 to 4 week turnaround is possible from order to receipt of product.
